Road Closure Staplestreet 21st October for 5 days

Staple Street, Hernhill (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY ORDER 2019
To allow works to be carried out to install a new water main connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Staple Street, Hernhill.
A closure is planned from 21st October 2019, with estimated completion by 25th October 2019, or where stated on a valid Permit (EB00619932640 - South East Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage on site and the works permit will be displayed on one.network
Staple Street will be closed outside Silver Sands Garden Centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by South East Water.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staple Street Road, Whitstable Road, Homestall Lane, A299 Thanet Way and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to reopen the road outside of working hours.
