A2 Harbledown and Dunkirk Combined Cable Failure Works - 15th to the 23rd March


Please see details received below from Highways England.


We’ll shortly be carrying out the installation of temporary street lighting cables to address the faulty cables in the area along the A2 between Harbledown and Dunkirk and A2 near Ebbsfleet Interchange coast bound exit slip road.

We will carry out this work from Monday 15 March 2021 to Tuesday 23 March 2021, working Monday to Friday only between the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm.

For the safety of our workforce and customers we will carry out these works in two phases:

Phase 1 - Upper Harbledown Area:

Monday 15 March 2021 - Lane 1 closure eastbound – no access to side road next to Holiday Inn Express Canterbury.

Tuesday 16 March 2021 and Wednesday 17 March 2021 – Lane 2 closures east and westbound.

Phase 2 – Dunkirk Area:

Thursday 18 March 2021 and Thursday 19 March 2021 – Lane 1 closure westbound, and the exit slip road at Dunkirk.

Gate Services Diversion: Traffic exiting Gate Services will be diverted via the A2 Dunkirk exit slip to join the A2 eastbound carriageway to turn around at Upper Harbledown to re-join the A2 westbound.

Dunkirk Exit Slip Diversion: Traffic wishing to exit at Dunkirk exit slip will carry on the A2 to M2 Junction 7, where they can join Canterbury Road to access Dunkirk.

Monday 22 March 2021 and Tuesday 23 March 2021 – Lane 1 closure eastbound.
